Prime Minister petitioned by adoption author
With National Adoption Week taking this month, there has been lots of publicity for one of our key titles from last year - Our Son From Afar by Alex Bemrose.
The book was mentioned in the Evening Standard - http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-24004274-couple-were-told-they-were-too-white-to-adopt-a-child-in-britain.do - and on Sky News - one of the 20 plus interviews that Alex took part in, which also included a visit to 10 Downing Street.
The photo shows Alex Bemrose, author of “Our Son from Afar”, and Director of Adoption with Humanity handing in a petition to 10 Downing Street (31 Oct 2011), calling for a National Adoption Authority, to reform the UK adoption system, together with her co-director, Stevan Whitehead, and the Chair/founder of Adoption with Humanity, Francesca Polini.
