London Book Fair a great success
As the dust settles from this year's London Book Fair, we're happy to judge it a great success.
The Book Guild team met foreign rights agents from many countries, promoting our front and backlist titles to try and secure translations of our books and sales abroad. We also took part in the Independent Publisher's Guild "speed-dating" scheme, with 15 minute meetings scheduled with all the major wholesalers and book chains.
Our author event this year was for Major Jack Union's How to Hunt a Jabberwock. The Major (in full uniform, with waxed moustache!) strode up and down in front of our stand, showing off his monster hunting "kit", complete with werewolf-hunting rifle and vampire impaling stake!
We were also looked down on by a 30ft image of JK Rowling on a neighbouring stand, which certainly leant a wizardly air to proceedings!
