The third anniversary of the phenomenally successful Shoreditch House Literary salon, hosted by Brightonian man about town Damian Barr, was celebrated with a host of literary lovelies. Craig Taylor, Maggie O’Farrell and the grande dame of literature – Diana Athill OBE (OMG!) were on stage and thrilled the audience with their readings and conversation.  To celebrate the third successful year, Book Guild’s very own Head of Marketing, Jessica Haggerty baked a very special cake – triple-layered walnut, apple and maple sandwiched together with damson and quince compote, smothered in ginger frosting and completed with salted caramel shards and caramelised apples. Fisticuffs nearly broke out amongst the queue to get their hands on a slice!
