Brighton Festival event a sell-out

Thu, 31st May 2012

Queues wound round the block for Book Guild's Victorian Monster Hunting Tea Party over the weekend.  The sell-out Brighton Fringe Festival event was held in the Hendricks Library of Delightfully Curious Writings to celebrate the publication of Major Jack Union's book "How to Bag a Jabberwock".

The dashing Major, an explorer and monster hunter from Queen Victoria's time regaled the crowds with tales of derring-do, whilst the audience also enjoyed cakes and treats made by Book Guild's very own Jessica Haggerty and Laura Lockington.

The Major had also held a very well attended event at Blackwells Charing Cross Road this week, where his avid band of steampunk followers hung on his every word and curiously inspected his monster-hunting weapons.
